Contax 645 AF mount lenses

The Contax 645 AF mount is an electronic autofocus bayonet mount for the Contax 645 medium-format (6×4.5) SLR system, introduced in 1999. The focal flange distance is 64mm, the throat diameter is approximately 70mm and it has four tabs. It supports autofocus and electronic aperture control and was usable with both film and digital backs.

There is an adapter, the Leica S-Adapter C, that allows mounting Contax 645 AF lenses on Leica S camera bodies while retaining all lens functions –‍ autofocus, aperture, and central shutter control. The Contax NAM-1 adapter allows using all Contax 645 AF lenses on Contax N camera bodies, including the Contax N Digital DSLR.

For adapting to Fujifilm GFX camera bodies, smart adapters with contacts and electronics are made by Fringer and Kipon –‍ both with no optics and with 0.8× optics that reduce the crop factor to almost native 0.63×.

Compared to the usual 35mm format, the crop factor of Contax 645 AF-mount lenses is 0.62×.
