RF mount is Canon’s second attempt at a mirrorless mount, this time with support for full-frame sensors. RF mount was announced in 2018; it is a bayonet mount with three tabs, with a throat diameter of 54mm and a focal flange distance of 20mm. Support for APS-C sensors, designated as RF-S, was introduced in 2022 and utilises Canon’s standard 1.6× crop factor. RF mount uses 12 pins for fully digital communication between the camera and the lens; there are no mechanical linkages. Full compatibility with EF and EF-S signalling is retained, meaning simple adapters with pass-through connections are sufficient to maintain all adapted lens functions.
EF-M mount lenses cannot be adapted due to shorter focal flange distances.
Note: this reference currently counts only autofocus lenses except for Voigtländer and some Laowa manual focus lenses.
