It’s been ages since I visited the biggest Croatian island, island Krk, so I couldn’t miss an opportunity to drive there and explore a bit.
To get to Krk, you can just drive over the bridge, but that’s easier said than done – actual driving is easy, but waiting in queue definitely isn’t. The bridge is under maintenance and only one lane (out of two) is open, traffic is managed by traffic lights allowing only alternating traffic in one direction only, leading to long waiting lines.
After some driving around and finding the correct way, I found a quiet cove with a direct view towards the bridge, showing both spans in their full glory.
I used two digital and a single film camera, and a few lenses:
- Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital camera with Canon EF 50mm F1.4 USM and Tamron AF 24–70mm F3.3–5.6 Asph. 73DE lenses;
- Olympus E-PL2 with Olympus M.Zuiko 9–18mm F4–5.6 ultra-wide zoom;
- Olympus OM-4 with Sigma Super-Wide II 24mm F2.8, Olympus OM F.Zuiko 50mm F1.8 and Tamron SP Adaptall-2 300mm F5.6 54B lenses and CFP KikiPan 320 black & white film.
Although it was October, I ran out of daylight relatively soon, and without a tripod, at around 18h there was not enough light for 320 ASA film and Olympus E-PL2 started struggling. Thankfully, the Canon and F1.4 lens allowed for a few more minutes of shooting in the darkness.
KikiPan film was developed in Adonal, 1+50 dilution at 21.5°C and scanned with a Plustek OpticFilm 8100 scanner.
